The Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship Program for Native American students was established by the family of Ardell Bjugstad of Rapid City. Bjugstad, who died in 1990, was a range scientist with the U.S. Forest Service for 20 years, an adjunct professor with South Dakota State University, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and Oglala Lakota College. He was a strong advocate for young American Indians working to educate themselves and he also worked closely with Oglala Lakota College in mentoring Native American students into the U.S. Forest Service. This scholarship endowment provides support for freshman Native American students who are pursuing studies in agribusiness, agricultural production, agricultural sciences or a natural resources degree at any postsecondary institution

The West Central Electric Cooperative Scholarship program is a program developed and designed to encourage and recognize the academic achievements of the children of West Central Electric Cooperative members.

Twenty-five high school seniors from across the state who plan to continue post-secondary education at a college, university, or technical school in the state of South Dakota will each receive $1,000. The scholarships are funded with support from Farmers Union Insurance agents in South Dakota and the South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation. It's part of the Farmers Union Insurance difference and our commitment to the next generation of youth.

Joe Foss “An American Hero” Scholarship honors students who demonstrate
characteristics of an American patriot, and the Fred and Marie
Christopherson Scholarship highlights high school seniors who plan to continue
their education at a college or university in South Dakota.
Golden West Telecommunications offers a one-time, $1,000 scholarship to students who's parents/legal guardian reside within one of the Golden West service areas and subscribe to a Golden West service (phone, internet and/or cable tv). Forty-five awards will be given, one for each of the high schools within the service area.

The Bellator Titans Motorcycle Club is excited to announce the availability of a $1,500 scholarship to an applicant who is in need of financial assistance. This is our seventh year presenting this scholarship and are looking for high school seniors who will be freshmen at any post-secondary intuition of higher learning. Applicants need to plan to attend an in-state post-secondary school in order to apply for the scholarship. Applicant does not need to be top of their class, but the committee is searching for students who are hardworking and motivated to succeed.
The South Dakota Firefighters Association, South Dakota Firefighters Association Auxiliary and the Dear Old Timers Organization (DOT) are offering two $1000 scholarships to two high school students to assist in their higher education.
Eligibility Requirements:1. A Son or daughter of any member (living, deceased or retired) of a fire department in South Dakota or an active member of a junior fire department in South Dakota.2. A high school senior or student entering their first semester of college.3. The applicant must be sponsored by a fire department that has 100% membership in the SD Firefighters Association for the current year.4. The applicant may also be sponsored by a member of the SD Firefighters Auxiliary, a local fire department auxiliary or a member of the Dear Old Timers.5. The scholarship may be used at any university, college or Post-Secondary institution (Vo-Tech.) Preference will be given to those who are obtaining a fire science or emergency service degree.
