Jones County High School presents the production "The Election" on November 25th in the Harold Thune Auditorium. Matinee 1:30pm, evening performance 7pm. Student ticket $4, Adult $6

Election season may have come to an end, but it’s not too late to share a few laughs over the whole process, no matter what side of the aisle you are on. The Jones County High School play, The Election by Don Zolidis, is a hilarious critique of the political arena, but any similarities to current political figures is purely coincidental. Mark your calendars for Monday, November 25, and plan to join us for one of our two performances. There is a matinee at 1:30 and an evening performance at 7 pm. Student tickets are $4 and adult tickets are $6.

After an embattled student body president (Bennett Kinsley) resigns in disgrace, Mark Davenport (Jace Nix) figures he will cruise to victory in the upcoming special election with the help of his loyal friend and self-appointed campaign manager, Karl (Adrik Schoon). After all, his only opponent is nerdy Christy Martin (Alethea Kustar), but things get rather interesting after their first debate, hosted by the controversy-loving newscaster, Kyli (Taya Iversen), especially when the slick campaign manager, Gina McMasters (Emmy Newsam) gets involved. There are PACs, campaign commercials, lies, controversy, conspiracy theories, debate training, a fake girlfriend and an unexpected ending.

Other high school cast members include Timber Vevig, Danae Mann, Cayenne Bohon, Jacob Roghair, Celton McKenzie and Harrison Moore. Several Junior High students help fill out the cast, including Titan Erikson, Blake O’Dell, Maggie Dowling, Emery Menning, Aubrey Tucker, Joey Rankin, Jesse Schoon, JJ Kinsley, Grace Gesinger, Harper O’Dell, Avery Martinez, Bayden Raymond, and Westyn Anderson. Helping backstage are Keyan Falcon, Cyrus Hendricks, Eli Jacobs, and Jett Vevig. The play is being directed by Lynette Karg and assistant director, Joni Willoughby, and all of the video editing was done by Emmy Newsam.

We hope to see you at the Harold Thune Auditorium on November 25 for an afternoon or evening at the theatre. Due to licensing, we are not allowed to stream this performance. You won’t want to miss it!
